A loser in the Kuresoi South parliamentary poll has gone to court petitioning against the election of Zakayo Cheruiyot as area MP.
Simon Kiprono Sang has sued Cheruiyot, the returning officer John Cox Lorionokou and the IEBC.

The case hearing has already started before Nakuru High Court Judge Justice Roseline P.V. Wendo and was due for mention this morning.
In the suit, Sang is being represented by the Mirugi Kariuki and Company law firm through lawyers Lawrence Karanja and Kahiga Waitindi while Cheruiyot is being defended by Nakuru based Gekong’a and Company advocates.
Cheruiyot was educated at the University of Nairobi in Political Science. He was a District Officer in Central Province, then Deputy Provincial Commissioner for the Rift Valley Province from 1987.
From 1997 to 2003, he was Permanent Secretary for Internal Security under President Daniel arap Moi. He was dismissed by the incoming Kibaki government.

Close ally of newly elected Deputy President William Ruto Samoei. Friends with Emmanuel Kiprono Chirchir Kiberton,A consultant in Kiberton Consulting & Projects Limited,Head of Business and Marketing-Artical Designs,Nairobi.
Once belonged to the Orange Democratic Movement and was elected to represent the Kuresoi Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the Kenyan parliamentary election.
He is a Kipsigis by ethnicity.
