The case was due to be mentioned this morning and we will provide you with details as they unfold.
During the last general elections, clan politics took centre stage with the Purko clan, which is the largest, endorsing the former NSSF General Manager Joseph Tiampati Ole Musuni who is the petitioner for the County Gubernatorial seat.
Ole Musuni vied for the seat on Kenya National Congress ticket a race against seven other contestants. Ole Musuni had been in the public service for two years.
Other contestants were former Kenya Power employee engineer Johnson Ole Nchoe, Former National Bank employee John Dalton Konchella and Samuel Kuntai Ole Tunai who worked for NSIS.
Others were TNA’s Michael Koikai, Wiper’s Francis Nkoitoi and Talengo Ole Kiptunen and Ledama Ole Kina who both ran as independent candidates.
The petitioners alleges that there were tallying irregularities in Emurua Dikir, Narok West and Narok South constituencies and was quoted recently in the press saying:
“The results of these constituencies were also “doctored” to favour Tunai. The whole process was sham,”.
Ledama said the officials were uncooperative, a clear indications that there was something fishy.
When contacted, Narok governor–elect Samuel Tunai said those who feel dissatisfied should seek legal redress.
“Some of the losers who campaigned in only certain regions in the county are now crying foul. We did our homework two years ago and we enjoyed support from all the communities living in the county,” he added.
