Interviews being conducted by the Governor Kinuthia Mbugua appointed 15-member panel led by ex-Chief Magistrate Gladys Ndeda were concluded yesterday.

The panel is today expected to present to the governor three names for each position advertised after which he will appoint one person to the respective positions they applied for.

Transitional Authority County Secretary Jospeh Motari who is the immediate former Rongai DC intimated that the announcements could be made as early as today.
Governor Mbugua is expected to, on top of revisiting the merits of each applicant and their qualifications, make decisions on who to appoint and balance the appointments using broad-based choices including factoring in ethnicity, constituencies’ representation, equity and gender.
Those interviewed by the panel among the massive over 700 total number of applicants include Dr Francis Kiranga who had applied for the post of Chairman of Nakuru County Public Service Board.
During the last general elections, Dr Kiranga was among rivals gunning for the gubernatorial seat on an Amani Coalition ticket along side Rev Lawrence Bomett of ODM but both were overwhelmingly floored by Mbugua.
Others interviewed also included Hilda Mukui who is married to Nakuru lawyer J Kimatta who had applied to be county cabinet secretary (equivalent to minister) for agriculture.
Mrs Kimatta was also in politics in the last general eletions where she was defeated by TNA’s Kimani Ngunjiri in the Bahati parliamentary race.
Others include Tomothy Muriithi “Kiongozi” who had applied to be minister for environment, natural resources, water and energy as had one lecturer at Egerton University identified as Maara and a Nakuru based livestock department staff member Richard Rop.
Professor Mary Kariuki who is an activist and mathematics Professor Patricia Gathia of Egerton were among the 120 people who applied to serve as cabinet secretary for education.
Other members who interviewed the applicants  included Riva Petroleum CEO Peter Njeru, Dr Wako Ngacha, PK Patel, Eng Stanley Ngata, Samuel Mairura, Elizabeth Naitula, Dr Stella Muhanji and engineer Justus Mogotio Kipngetich.
